Kawsar HDPE Water Pipes

Meeting the Challenges of the 21st Century

Piping made from polyethylene is a cost-effective solution for a broad range of piping problems in municipal, industrial, marine, mining, landfill, duct, and agricultural applications. It has been tested and proven effective for above-ground, surface, buried, slip-lined, floating, and sub-surface marine applications.

High-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe can carry potable water, wastewater, slurries, chemicals, hazardous wastes, and compressed gases. In fact, polyethylene pipe has a long and distinguished history of service in the gas, oil, mining, and other industries. It boasts the lowest repair frequency per mile of pipe per year compared with all other pressure pipe materials used for urban gas distribution.

Polyethylene is strong, extremely tough, and highly durable. Whether you are looking for long service life, trouble-free installation, flexibility, resistance to chemicals, or a myriad of other features, a high-density polyethylene pipe will meet all your requirements.

More Properties of Our HDPE Pipes

Mineral Build Up Resistance

Kawsar HDPE pipes resist scaling and internal deposits, maintaining optimal water flow. They surpass ASTM F876 standards for chlorine resistance when tested according to ASTM F2023, ensuring durability in various water applications.

High Impact Resistance

Kawsar HDPE pipes offer superior flexibility compared to other materials, ensuring they don’t crush, kink, or collapse when proper backfill techniques are applied. Additionally, they boast high resistance to gouges, scratches, and slow crack growth, making them highly durable in various demanding environments.

Leak Free

Polyethylene pipes, including Kawsar HDPE, are commonly joined using heat fusion methods such as butt, socket, sidewall, and electrofusion. This process creates a joint as strong as the pipe itself, resulting in a virtually leak-free system. The use of heat fusion significantly reduces installation costs compared to other materials, offering a more efficient and durable piping solution.

Corrosion, Abrasion, And Chemical Resistant

Polyethylene piping, including Kawsar HDPE, is highly durable and cost-effective for industries like mining and dredging, as it withstands abrasive slurries better than many costlier materials. Its excellent corrosion resistance, even in the harshest environments, makes it an ideal choice.

HDPE does not require expensive maintenance or cathodic protection, and it offers superior resistance to corrosive substances such as acids, bases, and salts. Additionally, HDPE is resistant to bacteria, fungi, and aggressive soils, ensuring long-lasting, reliable performance.

Reduced Installation Costs

Kawsar HDPE pipes are ideal for advanced installation methods such as directional boring, plowing, pipe bursting, and slip lining. Their flexibility reduces the need for multiple fittings, allowing for an impressive bending radius (20-25 times the pipe’s diameter), minimizing the equipment and labor required compared to metallic materials. Heat-fused joints create a fully restrained, leak-free system, eliminating the need for thrust blocking. Lightweight construction and longer pipe lengths contribute to significant cost savings in both labor and installation equipment.

Freeze Resistance

Kawsar HDPE pipes offer superior freeze resistance compared to HDPE and copper pipes. When exposed to freezing temperatures, these pipes can expand along their entire length without splitting. Once thawed, they return to their original shape, ensuring no lasting damage. This flexibility makes them highly reliable in cold climates, preventing costly repairs associated with pipe bursts due to freezing.

Ductility And Toughness

Kawsar HDPE pipes and fittings are highly durable due to their ductility and toughness. They are designed to resist damage from external loads, vibrations, and pressure surges like water hammers. Even in cold weather, polyethylene pipes remain flexible, making them easy to handle and install without compromising their integrity. This toughness ensures long-term reliability, especially in environments prone to harsh conditions or extreme temperature fluctuations.

Excellent Flow Characteristics

Kawsar HDPE pipes offer superior flow characteristics due to their smooth inner surface, which reduces drag and minimizes turbulence compared to traditional materials like steel, cast iron, and concrete. This allows a smaller diameter PE pipe to achieve the same volumetric flow rate at the same pressure, enhancing efficiency in fluid transport. Additionally, the chemical resistance and non-stick properties of polyethylene contribute to its durability and reliability, making it an excellent choice for a variety of applications.

Lightweight And Flexible

Kawsar HDPE pipes are available in both straight lengths and coils, making them versatile for various installation scenarios. Their lightweight nature—approximately one-eighth the density of steel—eliminates the need for heavy lifting equipment, streamlining the installation process. This flexibility reduces the number of fittings required, which is especially beneficial in shifting soils and earthquake-prone areas.

Moreover, HDPE pipes effectively resist freezing and can bend without the risk of brittleness, allowing for seamless installation over uneven terrain. This capability enables continuous lengths of piping without additional welds or couplings, enhancing both efficiency and reliability in diverse applications.

HDPE Pipe - Earthquake Simulation Tested

The durability and resilience of Kawsar HDPE pipes have been proven through extensive testing, including real-world earthquake scenarios across the US, Canada, and beyond. Notably, on April 6, 2006, researchers at Cornell University conducted a groundbreaking simulation to assess the effects of earthquakes on polyethylene (PE) pipes. They subjected a 16-inch diameter, 35-foot-long pipe to a staggering 120,000-pound force—the largest test of ground rupture effects ever performed in a laboratory setting.

Buried three feet underground, the PE pipe remained intact throughout the test, demonstrating exceptional performance under extreme conditions. While the surrounding sand shifted and cracked, creating visible surface distortions, the pipe itself did not break. This resilience suggests that in real-life earthquake events, Kawsar HDPE pipes can be relied upon to maintain functionality and serviceability, outperforming traditional materials that are more prone to breakage and failure under similar stress.
